Our Church and School Staff

Senior Pastor: Greg Wright

Pastor Greg grew up in West Virginia and came to know the Lord at the age of twelve. Having godly parents, he was encouraged to seek and do the Lord’s will for his life. In 1987 he graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelors degree in Bible and went on to complete his Masters degree in Pastoral Studies in 1989. He then worked at Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, SC as the Assistant Pastor until 1993. While there, Pastor Greg also helped develop Open Door Baptist Missions. Led by the Lord to Utah, he and his family moved to St. George in the Fall of 1993 to start Westside Baptist Church. Please feel free to email Pastor Greg with any questions you may have: greg@westsidebaptistchurch.org.

Youth & Children's Pastor: Jake Du Fault

Pastor Jake grew up in San Diego, CA. He came to know Christ as his Savior at a young age through the influence of his parents. He attended Northland International University and graduated in 2015 with a degree in Biblical Studies. After school, he served the Lord at Lake County Christian School in Waukegan, IL and was involved in various youth ministries of Lake County Baptist Church. In the Summer of 2017, Pastor Jake moved with his wife, Charlena, and son, William, to St. George to join our staff here at Westside. Pastor Jake is our Youth and Children’s Pastor and is involved in various teaching roles of Westside Christian School as well. He is looking forward to serving and encouraging our teens and youth at Westside.

Office Administrator: Merri Ellen Wright

Merri Ellen enjoys serving the Lord here in beautiful St. George with her husband, Pastor Greg. Having been involved in many aspects of Westside and Westside Christian School, she treasures most the moments of God changing hearts and lives.

Keeping the office and church activities organized gives her great satisfaction as she enjoys honoring the Lord by seeing that things are done "decently and in order" (I Corinthians 14:40).

School Administrator & Teacher: Tara Liston

Originally from Kaysville, UT, Tara has served the Lord in many areas since her graduation from college. Her ministries literally span the globe. She taught for several years through a live and recorded format for Bob Jones University's LINK program. The Lord then led her back out West where she joined our teaching staff, but He had other plans for her for a few years as He took her to Papau New Guinea where she taught in a one-room school house situation. Feeling the Lord directing her back to the States she was very gladly welcomed back on staff here at Westside.

Always looking to grow and improve WCS, Tara is now in a dual role as the School Administrator and Lead Teacher. Teaching our 3rd through 6th grade classes, she brings an excitement to the classroom that her students admire and are challenged by on a daily basis.

Elementary School Teacher: Allison Gleason

Allison grew up as a missionary kid in Scotland, where her family still serves. She came to know the Lord at a young age. After graduating from Bob Jones University with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2013, she moved to China where she taught English to two, three, and four-year-olds. After leaving China, she was a substitute teacher at Bethel Christian School in Hampton, Virginia until the Lord led her here to Westside Christian School. Allison teaches our 1st and 2nd grade classes.

Jr. High/High School Facilitator: Brittany Craven

Brittany moved back to St. George with her husband, Will, so that she could work at Westside Christian School. As an alumnus, she has a heart for the students that are now sitting in the same desks where she sat. She desires to help them grow, not just in their education, but more importantly in their relationship with the Lord. Having grown up in St. George, Brittany feels like she has come home. She looks forward to seeing how the Lord will use her here at Westside.
